About Jamie

Artist Illustrator

Jamie Stanley is a Painter/Illustrator, Fine Art and Airbrush Artist who has made New Holland Pennsylvania her home.
Born and raised in New York City, Jamie started her art career while attending The High School of Art & Design. As a youth, Jamie started out as one of the Mass Subway Artists involved in the graffiti movement of the late 1970’s through the early 1980’s. After graduating Art & Design she studied at The School of Visual Arts where she became more interested in Fine Art and Illustration.
Subsequently, while attending The School of Visual Arts, she also attended The Art Students League of New York where she studied Art and Anatomy in the style of Robert Hale Jr. Several of her pieces were displayed at The Brooklyn Museum of Art and The Women’s Art Museum in New York City.
During this time Jamie became one of the leading New York Artists of a generation that emerged in the wake of the influence of older artists in the late 1970s. There she absorbed the acute attention to form her own visual and conceptual vocabulary that emerged through her focus on the world of fantasy.
Jamie’s work can be found in a myriad of public and private art collections in New York City; Augusta, Georgia; and Columbia, South Carolina.
She has received several awards such as The UFT Art Award in 1979, the New York Artist Purchase Prize Award in 1982 and has won awards in Fantasy Art from 1999 to 2003. She has been doing private commissions, murals and commercial art projects for the past several years. She is now emerging into the Pennsylvania art scene.
